TC JOHN (02S) is the second named TC in the Southern Hemisphere this season, and was 'born' around 6am AWST on the 12th of December 1999, in the Timor Sea, 585 km NW of Broome on the NW WA coast. It became the most severe cyclone to cross the Australian coast on record!
